Attorney Profiles
Gerald P. Dwyer graduated from Columbia College in 1963 and Fordham Law
School in 1967. He has tried many cases to verdict and has briefed and argued
appeals in state and federal courts. He has represented parties in cases involving
the following: medical malpractice of doctors, hospitals, and nurses; products
liability claims, including medical devices; premises liability cases about duties of
property owners, tenants, and contractors; New York Labor Law duties of owners,
general contractors and subcontractors for construction site conditions; vehicle
collision cases involving owners, operators, and rental companies; negligence of
New York State agencies in the Court of Claims; and declaratory judgment
actions about insurance policy coverage. He is a member of the New York
County Lawyers’ Association and the New York State and American Bar Associations.
Kevin Brennan went to college and law school at Georgetown. He spent five
years as a trial prosecutor for the Manhattan District Attorney. Since then, he has
had a varied trial and appellate practice, especially in the areas of ERISA and
insurance benefits, small business disputes, wrongful death, and personal injury.
He now devotes much of his practice to representing those who have been denied
their employee benefits under ERISA or their long-term disability, life, accident,
or health insurance benefits. He has taught legal education courses for other
lawyers in subjects entitled "How to Litigate Your First Civil Trial in New York" and "ERISA Enforcement Provisions." He is a contributing author to Employee
Benefits Law (Jane Kheel Stanley ed., 2d ed. Supp.) He is a member of the New
York City Bar Association (Joint Legal Referral Service Committee) and the
American Bar Association (Joint Committee on Employee Benefits, Litigation
Section, and Tort Trial and Insurance Section). |
